Welcome to the web-site for the University of North Texas
Office of Pre-law Advising

Please note, pre-law is not an academic major at UNT. Rather, you should major in something that you will enjoy and in which you can maintain a good GPA. There is no right major for those wanting to go on to law school; any major that emphasizes strong writing and reasoning skills will help you prepare for law school.

However, if you would like to take pre-law courses while an undergraduate here at UNT, we have many courses for you to choose from.

NEW AND TRANSFER STUDENTS!

To be active in the pre-law program, you must fill out the pre-law information sheet (available in Wooten 125 and Wooten 129) and attend one of the

orientation sessions.

Return the information sheet to Wooten Hall 125 or Wooten Hall 129.

Unless otherwise noted, orientation sessions are held in Wooten Hall 130 for students NEW to the pre-law program (No appointment necessary).

Fall 2009 Pre-Law Advisor office hours are Mon. & Wed. 1:00 to 3:00 and Tues. 10:00 to 3:00.

Please try to see the Pre-law Advisor during these hours where possible. If these times will not work, please send an email to prelaw@unt.edu regarding your schedule, and we will try to set up an appointment at another time.
