Support of Home-based UNT Computers If CAS employees
experience problems with a UNT computer located at home, they must
bring the computer on to campus to get it fixed.
Support of Non-UNT (Personal) Computers Full time,
benefits-eligible employees can use non-UNT computers on-campus
provided they fully maintain the computer and software. CASCSS will
supply the customer with network addresses needed to connect, but will
not work on the computer or software.
Administrative Access to CAS Employee Data New part time
CASCSS employees will not have immediate administrative access to CAS
employee data. Part
time employees may advance to a point where they do get
administrative rights.
Remote Control of Employee Computers Remote control
software will not be automatically turned on by network
administrators. The customer may choose whether or not they want a
computer remote controlled. If they choose to have a computer remote
controlled, the customer can select an icon from a menu to enable a
remote control session. The customer can disable the remote
control session at any time.
Automated Inventorying of Software on Local Hard
Disks CASCSS employees will not inventory software on the hard
disks of CAS employees. They can inventory hardware.
Software Roll-outs New software and small, class-related
software should be installed as it comes in (spread out over the
semester), while large applications and most upgrades should be done
at one time between semesters (typically August and January).
Informing Customer of Problem/Request Status CASCSS
employees will keep customers informed regarding the status of
problems and/or requests. Customers should always know when an
employee will either finish the work or will contact them again with
the status of the problem and/or request.
Caching Web Proxy Servers CASCSS will not enable web
caching on new installs or when updating web browsers. CASCSS may
periodically recommend customers enable the caching web proxy service.
