RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BOARD MEMBER

          Membership on the UNT College of Arts and Sciences Development and Advisory Board, while carrying honor, is not merely an honorific position.  Board members will be asked to attend as many as possible of the 2-3 General Meetings of the Board each year.  Additionally, Board members will be invited to:

·        provide guidance to the Dean concerning issues affecting the College’s drive for still higher levels of excellence and national prominence;

·        contribute a community, industry, and business perspective on how to position the College in today’s (and tomorrow’s) society;

·        serve as an advocate for the College and its programs;

·        become knowledgeable about, and familiar with, the College and its programs;

·        assist the College in securing the funding necessary to enhance and further its mission; and

·        make a minimal financial commitment of at least $500 annually to the CAS Development and Advisory Board Fund, to be designated specifically for seeding development activities by the Board and Dean’s staff.
