Recipient of scholarship will be chosen based on over all achievement.

 
    To be eligible for consideration for the Charles T. and Mildred L. Newell Memorial Scholarship, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

1.  Meet the minimum entrance and academic performance standards of the College of Arts and Sciences in effect at the time of any award and demonstrate academic promise in one of the majors offered by the College;

2. Maintain full-time enrollment majoring within an undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences academic program at the University, unless the applicant has less than twice the number of semester hours required to be full time remaining in his/her degree program; 

3. Provide at least two letters of recommendation from persons familiar with the applicant’s academic work; and, 

4. Complete the scholarship application form and submit letters of recommendation, transcripts of all high school work (if entering freshman) or all college work along with a narrative statement discussing career goals, work record, and extracurricular activities.

DEADLINE FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 09-10 is April 6th, 2009.  The application must be received by email, postmarked by April 6^th or delivered in person to the Office of Student Advising, General Academic Building, Suite 220 by due date.
