Lab Information
All labs operate on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations will be made for single users. Students must present their current University ID card.
One-time access may be provided with a valid driver's license for students who are in the lab database.
Academic computing takes priority over recreational computing. When there is a waiting list for the lab equipment, current users are asked to leave in this order:
- Faculty and Staff members,
- Recreational users (people playing games, using IRC, and recreational web browsing), and
- Users who have been checked into the lab longer than two hours.
There will be absolutely no eating, drinking, or tobacco use in the lab areas.
Any users found violating this policy will be asked to leave and may have their lab priveledged suspended.
Lab Monitors can help you with the following tasks:
- Finding software
- Loading and saving files
- Printing
- Accessing on-line help or available manuals
- Save your work frequently in case problems occur.

- Large print jobs should be printed in smaller sections (20 pages or less).
- You may print one final copy of your document.
- Lab monitors may delete prints jobs that take a long time to print.
- Lab monitors may confiscate print jobs that violate printing policy.
- To prevent damage and reduce printing problems, only General Access Lab paper stock will be used in the lab printers.
- Recycle bins are available for unwanted printouts.
- Reduce waste by proof reading before you print.
- Use Print Preview to check page layout before printing.
- Use double-sided (often called duplex) printing whenever possible and practical. To conserve natural resources and keep your fees as low as possible, we encourage you to print on both sides of the paper.
