Lab reservations may be requested by Arts and Sciences faculty members who require computer facilities to demonstrate to their classes course-related material or software.
Reservations cannot be made for single users.
Reservations Must be Scheduled One Week in Advance
Faculty members must submit their reservation requests no later than 12:00 noon on the Friday prior to the
date for which they are requesting a reservation. The CAS General Access Computer Labs are funded solely
through general student fees, so the students' ability to have access to the labs is of paramount importance.
By having faculty schedule reservations a week in advance and posting reservation schedules no later than
Monday mornings, students are able to schedule their work times in the CAS General Access Labs so that they
do not conflict with that week's scheduled reservations. For this reason, last-minute reservation requests
cannot be accepted.
To request a reservation in one of the CAS General Access Labs, you will need to provide the following information:
Please Note: Reservations are not scheduled in GAB 330 during Fall or Spring semesters. GAB 330 is the busiest of the CAS General Access Computer Labs, and scheduling reserevations in that lab would unfairly deny too many students access to a facility paid for with their fees.
Please send your reservation request via email to the CAS Lab Manager at labman@mail.cas.unt.edu. If your web browser is configured to send email, simply click on the email address listed. If your browser is not configured to send email, or if you are not sure, just use your favorite email program to send the request. Be sure to include in your reservation request all the information listed above -- incomplete requests cannot be considered. If your reservation request is approved, the Lab Manager will send a confirmation via email.
The CAS General Access Labs make every effort to ensure the lab is ready for your reservation, but we are not infallible. Therefore, it is the instructor's responsibility to check the lab prior to the reservation to confirm the following:
