Basic Instructions for Logging in to
Technical Writing Lab Accounts
in the CAS General Access Labs
Logging In to Your Acccount
To log into your TWLab account from one of the CAS General Access Labs:
- Click on the Start button in the bottom-left corner of the screen
- Click on the item Netware GUI Login in the start menu (see Figure 1)
In the Novell login window, enter your Username and password.
The first part of your Username is your user-id. Your user-id should be your initials followed
by the last four digits of your Student ID number.
So if your name is Joe Bob Briggs and your Student ID number is 123-45-6789, then your user-id would be
jbb6789.
When logging into your TWLab account, you should be able to access your personal network storage space (typically refered
to as your H: drive). However, you may not be able to run the CAS Software applications. In that case, do the following:
- log into your TWLab account
- copy the files you need from your H: drive to the Temp directory on the C: drive
- log out of your TWLab account
- open your file(s) in the C:\Temp directory and do whatever work you need to do
- log back into your TWLab account
- copy your file(s) from the C:\Temp directory back to your H: drive
- log out of your TWLab account
