*There was a small error in our original article: Refugees and the Spread of Civil War.2006. International Organization, 60(2): 335-366. The data we obtained from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees data does not include figures for Palestinian refugees as such persons are under the mandate of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). Therefore, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria are listed has having no refugees from neighbors for most years in our dataset, which is not correct. Below are additional figures for Palestinian refugees in neighboring Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. Data from 1951-1984 are based on estimates from UNRWA. Data from 1985 and after comes from the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. There was no reported data for 1992, so the number from 1991 is carried over. Results do not change significantly when these figures are included.
